Harriman campus library: Ready to Renovate!

The Harriman campus library is pretty much ready for Monday’s 1st floor ceiling tear out. Based on last year’s experience with the 2nd floor ceiling, we are expecting lots of dust. This time we are ready.

It is feeling a bit surreal to have all the furniture gone and the book shelves shrink wrapped. Here’s a short video of the quiet before the storm.

We will remain open for business from the 2nd floor beginning Monday, June 13. We are planning for the 1st floor to be closed at least two weeks.

Think happy thoughts, please.

Wow! I had no idea so much furniture would have to be moved. This is a major project! Love the video! But you know, I'm already impressed with how the library staff is working to help students. I'm teaching a summer English class on the Harriman campus, and Molly Stover is working to adapt our usual library instruction time and will be coming to my classroom. It's all good. Looking forward to seeing the new, improved ceiling and lighting!
